TotallyMoney is a FinTech on a mission to improve the UK's credit score and help people move on up to a better future. The platform lets customers track and understand their credit position. It tells them why changes happen, how it affects them, and how to move on up, with next best steps to improve their credit score and financial standing.

CRM

eCRM had one of the biggest impacts on both engagement and revenue at TotallyMoney. As a member of the Creative Team, I was responsible for optimising existing emails and creating bespoke ones.

The work involved exploring and designing concepts for various email types. We focused on the content of each email and determined which information needed to be most prominent.

This work resulted in significant improvements: a 16% increase in hero clicks after introducing motion heroes, a 45% uplift in overall engagement, and a 77% increase in banner clicks following the design of new banner components.

Email optimisation

A significant source of email revenue was the Borrowing Power emails, which generated 49.75% of all email revenue at TotallyMoney. The purpose of these emails was to help customers find the right credit options for their needs.

Our goal in optimising this email was to increase Monthly Active Users (MAUs) and generate additional revenue from the campaign. Additionally, we aimed to improve engagement metrics such as open rates and click-through rates, which would indicate increased relevance and effectiveness of our email communications.

The new designs featured bright, bold designs with colourful new imagery, a redesigned “Download the app” section, and—most excitingly—two CTAs! These improvements significantly enhanced the email’s performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of our innovative approach and the value of pushing creative boundaries in CRM design.

By optimising this email we were able to increase MAUs by 15% and see a 32% uplift in CTR.
